Our team is growing!

Greetings everyone,

On behalf of the NCIME team and Executive Committee, I am very pleased to announce we have two new team members.

Carol Buchberger joins the NCIME as the new Project Manager; she is a Metis woman from Manitoba with a background in project management and community health planning. She is passionate about healthcare and has immersed herself to learn more about virtual care and health informatics to improve health service delivery. As Project Manager, Carol will support project activities and engage with stakeholders to continue building collaborative relationships and enhance the impact of the project.

Jordan Carrier has joined the NCIME team in the newly created role of Director of Community Engagement. She is a Plains Cree woman originally from Regina, Saskatchewan and is a member of Piapot First Nation in Treaty Four. She has worked within the Urban Indigenous Community of Hamilton for over a decade and has an education background in Indigenous studies and education. As Director of Community Engagement, Jordan will work closely with the NCIME Elders and Knowledge Keepers Circle, Working Groups and the Executive Director to support and lead community engagement.

We are also pleased to announce the promotion of Chezney Martin, former Project Assistant to Associate Project Manager.

Here at NCIME, we are dedicated to the growth and professional development of our team; we not only work toward creating space, place, and recognition for Indigenous physician leaders in medical education but also for those within supportive roles.

Please join me in welcoming and celebrating our team!

Be well, be safe,

Danielle
