Executive Committee & Working Group Meeting, Mississauga, ON, March 2023

We are delighted to share with you the highlights of the recent Executive Committee and Working Group meeting that was held in person in Mississauga, Ontario. The meeting was a great success, with members from all over the nation coming together to discuss important matters related to our work.

One of the most significant aspects of the meeting was the presence of Elders and Knowledge Keepers. Their knowledge and direction helped to guide our discussions and keep us grounded in the values and traditions of our communities. Their contributions were invaluable, and we are grateful for their presence.

During the meeting, the Executive Committee and Working Group discussed a range of issues related to our work streams, including progress updates on ongoing initiatives, plans for future projects, and strategies for addressing current challenges. There was also an opportunity for members to share updates from their respective regions and to learn from each other’s experiences.

Another highlight of the meeting was the opportunity for members to engage in a cultural activity led by the Elders and Knowledge Keepers, Leslie Spillett and Levinia Brown. The activity provided a unique opportunity for members to learn about Indigenous culture and traditions, and to connect with each other in a meaningful way.

Thank you to all who attended and contributed to this important gathering. We look forward to sharing more updates and progress on our work in the months to come.
